On the Mainstage:

Meat Baby

Written, Created and Performed by Joshua Mayo

Meat Baby and friends are coming for you. Let them fondle your funny flaps and tickle your tear tubes in this solo sketch show with too many costume changes and one shy, vulnerable, cute Filipino baby.

Genesis of the Show:

One of the concepts that inspired my stand-up was contrast in transformation. I dedicated one half of my set to playing a "shy baby" version of myself, and the other half to playing a "meat daddy" version of myself, separated by a campy costume change. I loved the feeling of being able to reveal different sides of myself in a way that felt celebratory, rather than using those sides as masks. This show—which I've had in my head for many years now—is the next step in exploring playful vulnerability.
