Barn Visit

A Show by The Drama Ladies Arts Collective

Night after night, Grace visits Adrian in the old barn at the back of the field. The two of them plan to run away together one day. Soon. Assuming she doesn’t stop coming first. And assuming he can get out of there at all.

Genesis of the Show:

The piece is an expansion on a section of a novel I've been working on for about one year. I have played with iterations of this idea for a little longer than that in various prose formats and eventually decided that what it needed was the feeling of sitting in the room, etc. which changed my direction with it from prose to theatre.

The Drama Ladies Arts Collective was founded in 2026 by Cailie MacLeod, Carmen Korpi, and Alice Newman-Gougeon. Coming from unique artistic backgrounds and meeting through opera, our collective celebrates works written by or about women and non-binary artists through performance. Our aim is to both reinvent classic works and develop new works that center women's choices through a feminist lens. We work across mediums in theatre, opera, music, and more.
