I medley of songs and stories to inspire the people
Genesis of the Show:
This show comes from the desire of sharing my music as a I believe music heals people. In doing so I have hoped to inspire people to find and share their own stories and acknowledge their own worth. This idea has always been a part of me but the actual performance in the summer.
Vivian Sollows
Vivi Darling is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, mother of three, and lifelong creative. Despite living with severe vision loss—legally blind with only 10% vision in one eye and 1% in the other—music has remained her guiding light. Growing up with poor eyesight and misdiagnosed eye conditions, Vivi faced countless challenges, from struggling in school to losing her ability to read sheet music as a young guitarist. At 17, a dramatic decline in her vision ended her studies in saxophone, but she found new expression through guitar and songwriting. Her first song, The Woman in the House, became both a tribute to her mother and a personal act of healing. Although her eyesight continued to deteriorate, Vivi’s determination never wavered. She performed acapella at open mics, joined choirs, and gradually rebuilt her connection to the guitar by memorizing the fretboard instead of relying on sight. Today, she teaches beginner guitar, writes original songs, and shares her powerful story through music. Vivi believes singing is for everyone, a way to breathe deeply, heal, and connect. With resilience, faith, and unwavering passion, she continues to write, perform, and inspire audiences—proving that there is always “more to life than you can see.”
